Russell Stover, you have left me no choice but to ‘unfriend’ you!
Why? Because no friend of mine would deceive me in such a way as you have!
My heart is broken and my palate left longing for more.
Your visually deceptive packaging tactic has left me in a state of shock and disbelief! How can you do this to all your friends and ever expect them to trust you again?
We excitedly opened the box of Russell Stover chocolates my son brought home for the family. I was left standing there with my mouth hanging open as my eyebrows met my hairline!
Seeing that tantalizing box, my expectations were lofty and my mouth salivating in anticipation, Russell Stover you left me flat!
How much distance do you need between chocolates? Are you fearful that each tasty morsel might touch or realize their neighbor has been taken already? Do not worry about that! You have put so much distance between them they will not even know they have a neighbor!
Ok, so we grabbed our favorites and excitedly went to the second layer. Second layer? Second layer?
WHAT??? The shock of it all! Our favorites are gone, we ate them already, but don’t worry – there is a second layer, right?
Russell Stover, you are on my list – my ‘don’t do business with anymore’ list. We’ve been friends for a long time, and it has been good while it lasted, but your deceptive packaging practice has leveled our friendship and I have to let you go.
I’m sure I’ll be able to find another friend or two out there where a scale won’t be necessary, packaging won’t be an issue, and chocolates will still melt in my mouth!
So Goodbye Russell Stover, old buddy, and Happy Holidays to you too!
